Phase I Contaminated Land Assessments
(Desk Study)
A Phase I Desk Study is usually requested by local authorities as part of a planning application or pre-commencement condition.
The Phase I Desk Study collates a range of information, from various sources, providing the sites geological, hydrogeological and environmental information, along with historical information about both the site itself and surrounding area. This data is used to then describe the potential presence of any on-site or off-site contamination which could affect any new proposed development.
The Phase I Desk Study will also outline any additional assessments that will be needed in order to fully establish the risk of these potential contaminants to the proposed end user.
